First, I'm surprised she's in decent health (and not 500+ pounds) after not eating anything but chocolate and rice krispies.

I do wonder though, in our age of diagnose-everything, if this is really a "condition" or just parents afraid to tell their child "just eat it"? If I'd pulled that as a kid, my parents would have laughed and told me I'm not leaving the table until I've finished whatever was on my plate. And they meant it.

This strikes me as very much like ADHD - 20 years ago no one was diagnosed with it; now whenever a kid acts up it must be ADHD. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe this is a serious disorder and she needs all the help she can get, but... I somehow doubt it.

They should also not force children to try a new food but rather wait until they want to change their diet themselves.

Right. Have you ever seen a 12-year old say to their parents that they'd really rather try a different diet?

That's so crazy! I can't imagine only eating Chocolate... I'm surprised the article didn't talk about health deficiencies. I can't imagine she's getting all of her vitamins.
