Facts seem a bit skimpy in this article. The Guardian covers this in far more detail, seen here. Funny, though, they make no mention of homosexual prostitution. It almost seems as if the Pretoria News is really playing up that angle. C'mon, the give their "source" an alias that seems less anonymous than provocative: "Lovemore". WTF?? Why not just call him "Studmuffin" or some such? Far more here than meets the eye.

Thanks for clarifying Decurion, it just reminded me so much of "human trafficing" that I said what I did. I was probably way off the mark, but go figure....it never ends does it? Hek:(

Others said women had been threatened with gang rape if they refused to have sex with individuals

So the boys get paid if they have sex with men, but the girls are forced to have sex with them under threat of gang rape?

Both are horrific. The difference between them shows the difference in the way boys and girls are valued throughout their society.

Why didn't the headline include the fact girls were being threatened with grang rape? Why didn't the story include the fact that forced sex is rape? Makes me think the rape of girls is too common to be news over there. Or that the staff of the newspaper doesn't think that the rape of girls is newsworthy.

Loretta (1st, good to see ya woman) but that is the news isn't it? Full of half truths, exaggerations and the likes...but like I wrote above....it reminded me of that!

This is truly a sorry misuse of children, God help us.

I am glad it has been brought to the light.

shocking, but compared to killing albinos and grinding their body into dust for the "magic" they possess this seems almost civilized. The west never really wants to look too close at the ignorance and violence which dominates africa.

These kinds of stories make me seriously sad, but the truly sad thing is these are in the news all too often.

People who do this to other people need to be shot.
