A DNA test that predicts the best type of diet to help a person lose weight has been developed.
Women who followed an eating plan based on the test lost up to five times more weight than those on other diets.
The findings could revolutionise the slimming industry and tackle soaring obesity in Britain.
US researchers carried out a trial of 101 women. Scientists from Stanford University analysed their DNA and divided them into three types – low-carbohydrate diet responsive, low-fat diet responsive and responsive to a balanced diet.
