China's top-ranking UN diplomat embarked on a drunken rant against the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, telling his boss he'd "never liked" him, and adding for good measure that he didn't like Americans either.

I do hope he's fired over that.
That said I don't think this is the opinion of the majority of the Chinese. When I went there they seemed more curious than anything else. I know I'm the first redhead that many people have seen.

This Chinese diplomat can't handle his liquor and getting him drunk lets the real opinions of Chinese xenophobia come out! You insult my Nation and way of life here. You and 6 billion of your cousins should be glad we're letting your people be trading partners; otherwise the majority would go back to eating a starchy diet of rice and gravy while letting no dog run free from your cookware and dinner plate! I'm sick and tired of our corporate leaders finding companies there that'll whore themselves for low wages that no American would leave the house for. By the way, most of your history has been filled with no value for a human life and if not for the 19th century British and 20th century American influences that have brought you out of Imperial Rule and modernized China, you would be lost little Buddhists? Sure, Buddhism teaches me to say oohhhmmmm well and have less stress but it's not a faith that would answer needs to connect to a Creator and be charitable to a fellow human. Shut your evil mouth Mr. Diplomat or, go back to China.
The story prompted the London Daily Telegraph to include the following anecdote in an editorial about a former British Foreign Secretary who was partial to a glass or two.
"...George Brown, who as Harold Wilson's foreign secretary made it a point of honour never to draw a sober breath. At a reception for a South American republic, Brown is reputed to have staggered up to a glamorous figure in red silk and asked for a dance. "I must refuse for three reasons," came the reply. "First, this is not a dance but the national anthem. Second, you are clearly drunk. And third, I am the Cardinal Archbishop of Lima."
