WHILE Fido is his frisbee-catching best mate, his glam neighbour's pug Sugarplum is a fab accessory for her Prada tote.
New website, pawclub.com.au, has divided dog owners into five categories: the Fashionista, the Bestie, the All Star, the L-Plater and the Guru.

After answering questions on their "dog parenting" style a quarter of all dog owners came in as Fashionistas who pamper their pooches' every need.

I'd have to say Guru. Having had dogs all my life, you get to know what they are thinking (in advance of jumping up on the couch or running out of the yard). Basically, you have to out think 'em! That, and you must be the pack master!

Three dogs - a rescued Dalmatian (loves his mama, selective hearing, a real putz)

A German Shorthair Pointer mix (abandoned in a movie theater as a tiny puppy. Extremely intelligent and wants to please. Hyper, ball obsessed!)

A rescued Korean Jindo (extremely loving giving me little nips of joy every time he sees me, unbelievably intelligent but very happy to be a follower in the pack, not the leader which is very unusual for the breed, follows me EVERYWHERE to the point that sometimes I need to demand my "alone time" in the bathroom!)

Shelby,
You're lucky to get that "alone time".
My furbabies have worked out how to open the sliding door to the bathroom.
Result - no privacy.
Ever!

Golden Ret Bubba doesn't care where I am, unless it's in the kitchen. Trav (giant schnauzer), on the other "paw" lies down across the threshold of the opened bathroom door when I take a bath, and guards it from intruder (hubby..lol).. and yes, Trav does bark a warning if hubby starts down the hallway.

My dogs (black Lab, Dachshund, Chiweenie) ride with me, sleep with me, hang out with me all the time. I love my dogs better than I love most people. They go with me everywhere except to work.

I'm lucky enough to work from home. Hence Miss Polly - a white American bulldog - and Mr Punch - a something or other who looks to have plenty of mastiff in him - are with me at work. Sharing the bed with a combined 120 kilos can sometimes be a bit difficult though
